Yoshimi Valentine received a bachelor's degree in Linguistics from San Diego State University and a master's degree in Japanese pedagogy from Columbia University. Her research focuses on second language acquisition, including topics such as feedback and recasting. She has teaching experience in University level courses in theoretical and applied linguistics, Japanese language, Japanese pedagogy, and Japanese calligraphy.
